We are Tess and Dan. We are both artists, and recently retired from our previous lives. Dan was a paramedic firefighter for 29 years and Tess was a filmmaker. We met at Burning Man in 2009, married in 2013, and then came up with the fun idea to perform weddings in Black Rock City. After years of officiating in the Nevada desert, ultimately we found that our beautiful little ceremonies were our calling back at home!

So… in 2021, we decided to bring our Burning Man style weddings to Los Angeles. We bought an old white house in Highland Park with a crazy vision for opening a magical wedding chapel. The house needed a ton of work, but we both love a creative challenge. We put on our work boots and got to work. We did most of the work ourselves. The woodwork, the metal, the finish work, the landscaping, all of it. After almost two years of renovations, we opened the Old Brown House in 2023. And it’s amazing!
